A woman died in Tamazulápam del Espíritu Santo, in the Sierra Juárez region, due to the rains caused by the remnants of tropical storm Nadine, authorities in Oaxaca reported on Monday. Governor Salomón Jara Cruz expressed his sorrow over the death of the woman from the community of Duraznal and has ordered actions to provide the necessary assistance.

"I have instructed the personnel of the Coordination of Delegates of Social Peace of the State Government to provide the necessary attention and support with the transportation of the body, which will be delivered to her family in the community of Duraznal in this municipality," stated the Oaxaca governor. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to support affected families and be close to them in these difficult times.

The rains caused by the remnants of tropical storm Nadine also affected Tamazulápam, as well as the regions of Cuenca, Istmo, and Sierra Juárez, impacting dozens of communities and families in the area. Civil Protection has reported that while tropical storm Kristy does not pose a danger to Oaxaca, variable intensity rains are expected in the region.
